Fall 2016

Returning to campus after a year, I noticed my perspective as a student moved. Maybe it was the status change from undergraduate to graduate, maybe it was the elevated level of course work. Either way my perspective changed. I initially noticed this shift on the first day I tutored students in the University Writing Center. My confidence felt secure and I was sure of the feedback and directions I suggested to students. Now writing was my chosen profession.

During this first semester, I dove head first with Composition Theory and I began the Online Writing Instruction Certificate by taking the first two courses in the program, Introduction to Online Writing and Multimedia Online Writing Instruction. I chose these courses because each would take me one step closer to teaching writing.

The writing examples here represent two research essays written for Composition Theory  and the work done in Introduction to Online Writing Instruction and Multimedia Writing Instruction, the first two courses of the OWI Certificate.
