This accelerated course is the introductory class in the Online Writing Instruction Certificate program. In this course I developed the beginnings of an online writing course, including choosing a platform, writing a syllabus, assignments, and grading rubric and creating an online presence as an instructor. A number of the skills developed in this course are also useful in the face-to-face class because most composition courses are trending toward a combination of online and face-to-face instruction. The course teaches understanding the profession, using technology to invent, refine and deliver a variety of texts, and being professional in and outside the classroom as a student and teacher.
