In this course, I completed three persuasive essays, each with a distinct audience and purpose. The first was a forensic essay describing how neighbors with differing dog ownership views can live together peacefully. The second was a deliberative essay to persuade an audience to sponsor or support school children in Haiti. The last assignment was a ceremonial essay praising my brother-in-law’s military service and character. The reflective piece for this course was also persuasive in nature. The assignment was to write a letter to a fictitious company persuading the executives to hire me as a persuasive writer. My qualifications include persuasive writing experience and the ability to teach persuasive writing. Advanced Persuasive Writing experience demonstrates my ability to analyze rhetorical strategies to address particular audiences in different situations and to develop rhetorical strategies to develop arguments to persuade the audience.
